Well, this. When i boot the live distribution from my USB drive and select Compiz, BT3 boots into the GUI only to crash out of it again back to the login prompt. Which logfile do i send for troubleshooting?

Compiz only works with certain graphics cards. Find out which one you have and post it and we can tell you if it works or not.
