SBx00 Azalia no sound out of headphones but sound out of speakers

Hello. I've been trying to get the sound out of my headphone's rather than out of the speakers on my laptop. when i put my headphones in i get sound out and also out of the speakers too. I've reinstalled the drivers and checked using alsamixer but the headphone is disabled? Anyideas people?

1) Its probably the way your computer is configured hardware-wise.
2) Maybe you have a dodgy stereo jack on the computer?
3) lack of information makes it harder to diagnose. Have you tried googling?
