Which version of BT3 are you using? USB or CD? In any case, when I want to find something on the system, one thing that I might do (there a different ways), is
"updatedb ; locate wordlist"

A quick forum search for wordlists would have yielded this as a result.

That too, but I believe that there are a few wordlists on the image. At least there is on my copy of BT3.

you can find a wordlist reference at aircrack-ng.org FAQ : hxxp://aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=faq#where_can_i_find_good_wordlists

Ive got a few wordlsts thanks to the link pureh@te provided above. Thanks :)
I want to try them with aircrack and a few of them are quite short. I was thinking about joining them but i like how they are all categorised.
Does anyone know the command to use multiple wordlists with aircrack? Aircrack makes a reference to some page but i have no idea what it means, lol, and i have had a quick look through the aircrack doku.
Can anyone post how to format this command in aircrack using the -w option with mutliple wordlists pls?
Cheers
Kevin

there's no solution built in aircrack for that .
you can spawn a session for each wordlist, but it's useless as the speed of cracking is dividing by the number of session ....
you can also try to set up a script that will do the following
list all wordlist that are in directory
create a airolib-ng db with a single essid (your target)
set up a loop that in each iteration will do that
take a wordlist, import it in airolib-ng db
compute it
try to crack
if cracked => stop
else continue to do the loop untill all wordlists are tested
this prevent you to do a long computation ...
this is only a hint ... good luck

:(
I thought it was possible.
If you bring up the aircrack help with info on all the options it says:
-w <words> : path to a dictionary file (multiple
dictionnaries can be specified
See manpage for more information)
Does anyone know of this? or is it false advertising, lol?

By the way SV, i would like to thank you for your vote of confidence in me, but i am a mere linux noob, lol
Id consider myself an advanced winblows user, mac osx novice and a linux noob. I dont think i ever would have bothered pen testing and linux if i didnt discover a theiving neighbour thieving my hi-speed broadband. Back in those days i only used wep and mac address filtering.
Your post really leaves me dumbfounded but i appreciate the intelligenge youve assumed on me, lol
btw, would like to thank you personally for all your great tools youve coded, youve made this journey for me much easier to understand.
Since Ive cracked my own wep using your spoonfeeder it gave me confindence in trying it manually myself cos i have proof it can be done with my setup.
So thanks for you valuable contributions, and im sure there are many other ppl who feel the same way. Thumbs up mate, keep up the good work

ok after a little more investigation , this is not explained in man page, that explain why i was thinking it was impossible.
but i tried the usual list way using by all the NG suite .
like for interface it seems that if you comma spearate the lists , it will works...
i never use the wordlist mode, only the database mode because it's way better to use this with big lists, sorry if i can say it's impossible you're right it is possible
aircrack-ng -w list1,list2,list3 xxxxx.cap
sorry if i confused you . im an expert in database mode but not in wordlists one , sorry again
but i bet you will experiment that's it is very slow cracking using wordlists, again it's way better to use database mode in conjuntion with airolib-ng
btw thx for your words , im trying to share and help =)

thanks for solving my query SV, and thanks for the tip on using database mode.
I'll add that on my need-to-learn list.
Cheers :D
