The nvidia-compiz issues of 'ol have seem to have arisen once again....

I'm getting 'nvidia taints kernel' through dmesg, I/O errors with regards to NVIDIA0, and the infamous 'Screens found but none with working config' error....

I have compared the nvidia-xconfig xorg.conf entries to my current BT3b install and they all match up. Perhaps it's a bad driver install? Kernel misconfiguration?

I'm pullin out hair at this point. Anyone have this running or at least throw some new ideas at me....please...... :(

EDIT: I can't even get KDE to load with the vesa drivers..... *sigh*

bt ~ # ls -la /dev/nv*
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 195, 0 Jun 20 12:17 /dev/nvidia0
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 195, 255 Jun 20 12:17 /dev/nvidiactl
bt ~ #

Should nvidiactl be root:root or root:video?

This is really starting to frustrate me. As far as I can tell everything setting-wise is identical to my BT3b setup, which I am on right now and compiz is working just grand....

I'm having a brain fart and can't even think of how to change root:root to root:video. Help?! :(:(
