Greetings,

I am questioning the following file:

Description: USB Version (Extended)
Name:: bt3final_usb.iso
Size: 784 MB
MD5: 5d27c768e9c2fef61bbc208c78dadf22
SHA1: 3aceedea0e8e70fff2e7f7a7f3039704014e980f

Now I know its the USB version, but just like every other USB version; I burn them onto a DVD. I am using 'Nero Burning ROM 7" to burn the ISO file onto a blank DVD. I used this method for every other version of B|T and it worked, although this time it did not work. The DVD keeps getting spat out from my drive and I am prompted with the 'Unable to recover TOC'. The solution is usually making sure DMA is on, and it is - Still getting the error.

Here is my Nero Error Log: [Nero support sucks, thought you guys could help me out or maybe your getting the same error, Got to go out for a few hours, have not been able to troubleshoot everything just yet; any help is appreciated]

I know its not a direct BT3 bug, but it is related. I hope I do not piss the mods off, kind of in a rush..I will edit when I return. Again, sorry if this is in the wrong section. Thanks again devs for the crack-laced OS [BT] :cool:

Have you checked that you have the correct MD5 checksum? I burned the USB iso image onto a DVD-RW without any problems whatsoever using CloneCD.

Yeh the MD5checksum has been verified:
MD5: 5d27c768e9c2fef61bbc208c78dadf22

I will download CloneCD and give that a try, thanks Tron :)
Also, I Googled for a few hours last night and found that I would need to either update my DVD-RAM firmware, replace the drive altogether or insert a laser cleaner into he drive. Most people on the pages/forums I found on Google more or less stated that if you get the 'Unable to recover TOC' that the drive is dead.

I will keep trying :cool:

I got it working.

Strangely enough I didn't do anything. I was using Windows to burn the DVD, been using Back|Track 3b constantly and have not loaded Windows since I attempted to burn the image to DVD. 2 hours ago I loaded Windows and tried to burn BT3Final-USB to a DVD once again just to test my luck.

...I was in luck! :cool: Even though I tried to burn it at x1 speed last time and it didn't work, it worked this time. So, this is not a problem AT ALL with Back|Track and I am sorry for clogging the forum up; but there might be someone with a similar problem ;)

I have to say that BT3_final is out of this world and I love the fact that SNORT is now apart of it. As time goes on I feel more guilty not being able to donate, that will change as soon as I get my business up and running :cool:
