BT3 see my TrendNet TEW-429UB, but I can't found any interface to use it.

lsusb display
Bus 2 Device 1: ID 0000:0000
Bus 2 Device 2: ID 157e:300a TRENDnet TEW-429UB 802.11g Adapter with HotSpot Detector

but no module was loaded, so iwconfig can't find a wifi interface.

dmesg contains only this when I connect the key:
usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3
usb 2-2: configuration #1 choosen from 1 choice

I manually loaded the module with this command:
modprobe zd1211rw

which add these lines to dmesg:
ieee00211_crypt: registered algorithm 'NULL'
ieee00211: 802.11 data/management/control stack, git-1.1.13
ieee00211: Copyright (C) 2004-2005 Intel Corporation <jketreno@...>
usbcore: registered new interface driver zd1211rw

but no interface was created.

Does someone have an idea of what I can try to get it up?

Thanks!

Read this thread:
http://forums.remote-exploit.org/showthread.php?t=14241

Do not follow the first post as the OP wrote it for Ubuntu and not BackTrack, but Dr_Gr3en modified it for BT. Please learn to use the search function man...it saves you time aswell as others.

Thanks for the reply, but I did find that thread before posting.

I should had add to my original message that since the zd1211rw was added to the final BT3, I was expecting to see at least a wireless interface.

However, I followed the steps mentionned in the thread but I can't apply the patches to the files included in the BT3 src. The kernel's versions doesn't match. Unless it is me who does something wrong.

Does someone as the same interface than me and it is working?
