Hello. This is my first post, and I just want to know if there is a way to boot BackTrack2 using a USB-key on a computer that does not support USB boot. In Slax, this can easily be done by using the Slax BootCD. However, I tried using my Slax BootCD to boot my BackTrack2 flashdrive but it did not work. Is there any workaround to this? I want to know how to make a custom BackTrack BootCD to boot my flashdrive.

Note:
I performed the steps described here:
h**p://backtrack.offensive-security.com/index.php?title=Howto#Installing_BackTrack_to_a_US B_Stick
to make my USB flashdrive bootable.

Thanks! :)

Hi.

I want to, but HP doesn't offer a new BIOS for my laptop. :(

Came across this a few days ago on the forums:

The solution for me is to boot off a USB device.

I use the CD to boot with:
"boot: bt nocd"

This boots a laptop that can't boot from USB, to the point where it can load the modules, ect.. from a USB device.

I was planning to try that, but then I realized that my USB is not even bootable! :D The steps in the link on my first post did not work for me. :(
