Howdy. I've tried searching the forums, but I can't seem to find a way to connect to an AP via WPA. I tried configuring a wpa_supplicant.conf file, but that's not working for me. Can one of you add your 2 cents? Thanks.

A little more detail of how you are trying to connect, chipset?

I don't know how you searched the forums but I came up with:

http://forums.remote-exploit.org/showthread.php?t=5550

http://forums.remote-exploit.org/showthread.php?t=4335 (http://forums.remote-exploit.org/showthread.php?t=4335&highlight=connecting)

http://forums.remote-exploit.org/showthread.php?t=2099 (http://forums.remote-exploit.org/showthread.php?t=2099&highlight=connecting)

... and so on ...

Those threads may not help you solve your connection issue, but without more detailed information, I don't think anyone could help you.

download kwlan from linuxpackages.net

install it with 'installpkg kwlan....tgz'

or make a live-module
(tgz2lzm kwlan.tgz kwlan.lzm.
copy the lzm file in to your module directory from your backtrack-cd and rebuild the backtrackiso.
burn it or try it with vmware
know you can configure wpa etc...

Once you have set up your .conf file you have to run wpa_supplicant,

depending on your card you might have to change this but this is the command i use

wpa_supplicant -B -Dwext -iath0 -cwpa_supplicant.conf

where -D is driver type (wext, midwifi, etc..,)
i is your interface ie your wifi card
and c is the conf file you want to use to connect
