Hi,

I've installed backtrack 2 final a few days ago and works fine with senao and orinoco cards (eth1), but when I insert my ubiquiti SRC300 atheros based card and type iwconfig or ifconfig there is no ath0 device.
lsmod doesn't list ath_pci nor ath_hal modules.
I tried modprobe ath_pci and ath_hal and insmod /lib/modules/..../net/ath_pci.ko
and other commands but after that iwconfig doesn't list ath0 at all though lsmod list ath_pci and ath_hal.

Can anyone help me or tell what is the problem and how can
I load automatically madwifi driver modules at system startup?

I have 3 partitions xp BT 1 and BT 2 final.

(sorry for my bad english)

hi all,

I have downloaded latest madwifi driver 0.9.3 and installed with no errors. My question is that my
ubiquiti SRC 300 pccard doesn't start, so I have to install hotplug module, but how? And how to
autostart ath0 device? Is the hotplug module and ath_pci, ath_hal and ath_rate_sample enough to use my
atheros based card? I read somewhere that pccard is not supported under B|T 2 Final.

I have to modprobe ath_pci every time I boot BT2 Final, how to add this/these module(s) to autostart like psmouse or any other essential modul?
Please someone help me with a few command?

I think hotplug module is missing for working ath0
so how can I install it?
I downloaded the hotplug-2004_03_29.tar.gz
unpacked and installed or something but nothing happend
I tried to read its manual page (No manual entry for hotplug) and README file and it says that I have to modify some config file
"- Drivers may provide a per-device setup script that's invoked after
they modprobe: /etc/hotplug/usb/MODULENAME is called for USB
devices, CardBus devices use /etc/hotplug/pci, and so on:"
Can someone pls help with this?

Once I did use src300 w/ B|T 2 Final without any problem, but I don't know what I did and how. iwlist ath0 txpower said 31dBm output power!!!! (~1250mW!) :D Since then I reinstalled B|T 2 Final.

Dear diary,

I have finally solved the problem with pcmcia_cs module.

how did you fix it?

Unfortunately the problem still exists. But. If I use acpi=off boot option sometimes - really sometimes - ath0 and wifi0 works. About from 5 reboot once I can list my ath0 interface. I don't know what is the problem, but some kind of hw IRQ problem. dmesg your friend. I will see next time the exact dmeasg message.

Try to boot B|T 2 final LILO with append="acpi=off" or simply acpi=off

I tried to reinstall madwifi (0.9.3), pcmcia-cs, hotplug but the problem still exists. I don't know what conf files should I edit.

I have TI (Texas Instruments) (I will see lspci also for this) pccard to PCI socket.

ath_pci and ath_rate_sample etc. not loaded but after modprobe ath_pci iwconfig doesn't list ath0 or wifi0 interface

How should I edit lilo.conf to disable ACPI?
I added acpi=off after fifth line and typed lilo after saved lilo.conf file.

If someone knows what is wrong or how can I solve this problem please tell me.
