install help

im trying to install back track just like every one else with vista.and like every one else im having a issue with lilo. when i trie to install lilo i get the error and then the file is blank. the reall y weird part is i wiped the whole hard drive and tried to just install backtrack and that wouldnt boot either. im gettin frustrated. when i rewrite the lilo file and save it after the install i get this;

Fatal: RAID_SET UP: stat("/dev/hda")

im using sda though and my lilo all says sda please help and paste a complete lilo file . i read all the forums and tried numorous combos but to no avail


now im fed up and starting over some one please explain how to do this.i have a toshiba sattalite and i got it for backtrack but i have a few windows things i need on it . so ill explain what i did.i installed xp. then i boot up backtrack.i used qt parted to split the drive in to 20g for back track and 90 for xp. i have a 111 g hd. ok then i got the hd install from the backtrack home page and did that install. i was confused about where to point the mbr to.
sda1-ntfs
sda2-linux
sda3swap
sda4linux
a few times i tried to get lilo and the file was empty and i had to rewrite it from all the different ways in these forums. please post or link me to a complete instal=lilo config.

p.s. i also tried the video tutorial but got a error when i tried the boot/boot/vmlinuz command it said the file system did not exsist.every other command in that tut worked so help with kernal copy command would help 2. thanks

Its ratter Easy to install BT

If you use the GUI, make sure you point the MBR to install on /dev/sda

if you use the install with command (like the one on muts video : Dual booting)

the /boot/boot/vmlinuz isnt going to work...

use /boot/vmlinuz instead :)
