Routers and UPNP

OK. so we are at the point where we gained access to the network by breaking the WEP key.

Say that an attacker wants to open ports. Can this be done without having access to the router? like through UPNP. I just broke my own WEP, and if I wanted to open port how would about doing it. I know my router password and everything.
