I've been doing some long range wireless networking at work, recently. I've been deploying these (http://www.inscapedata.com/CB54.htm) for the past couple of weeks. We've been getting 1 to 2 mile connections, with straight shots, point to point. It has an integrated, 12 dBi antenna and is powered over ethernet. Cost is around $200.
Pretty neat product, web configured from a standard browser. I can't play with it too hard at work, but I'm going to bring one home this weekend and try to find out what makes it tick. It would be nice to be able to get a shell. The web interface looks kind of familiar :-)
Does anyone here have any experience "hacking" on these? And by hacking, I mean making it do unusual things, not breaking any laws.
