I just downloaded bt2 final and to my great surprise it booted on my Core2Duo laptop without any trouble. Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to fix that!

Well, I guess this solves the mystery of whether or not BT2 Final works on Dual core setups. I read recently a lot of people were questioning its compatibility.

Nevertheless, an important distinction to make is booting the Live CD vice booting via a hdd install.

I did a HDD install on a dual core HP Compaq Presario v6000 dual boot with Windows XP Pro Corp and BT2 Final on it. I have NEVER did it live..even when I first heard of BT.
