Enhanced Injection driver for Intel ipw3945 (External project by JMF hosted here)
The developers at intellinuxwireless.org are working on a new driver for wireless adapters from Intel named iwlwifi. Meanwhile they also made a driver for testing purposes called ipwraw. This one allows raw packet Tx/Rx with the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG adapter, it's raw mode only and can't be used for normal connections to the internet.
ipwraw didn't even have wireless extensions, so I added them to make it easier to work on programs like aircrack-ng, kismet, mdk, ...
original ipwraw driver from git repository on 19-Jun-2007
modified to ipwraw-ng 1.0.0:
* Applied 01-2.6.22-mac-raw.patch that comes with the driver
* Driver now has some wireless extensions - now can change channel and bit rate
* Added a private ioctl named 'ipwraw-ng'. It doesn't do anything, but might be useful for identification.
I left the default speed at 54 MBit. You may want to lower it to 1 MBit before injection with iwconfig wifi0 rate 1M
This package contains only the driver source code, doesn't include the firmware. It can be downloaded at http://intellinuxwireless.org/index.php?n=Downloads
More information can be found on the included CHANGELOG.ipwraw-ng file.
