Isn't that rather an insane requirement? Unless of course you were already supposed to have gotten those Certs and you've put them off and now you've hit the deadline. But I can't imagine any company telling an employee they have two weeks to get two advanced certifications or else they get fired.

Check their sites or some local trainers there are usually "Boot Camp" type classes for these certs.
Just point him to something like:
http://www.certmag.com/articles/templates/CM_gen_Article_template.asp?articleid=1524&zoneid=1
Overall, certified professionals this year enjoyed an average 16.4 percent pay increase from 2004, up significantly from last year’s reported increase of 14.1 percent. The global survey clearly showed the value of qualified IT experts, with 23.4 percent of the respondents earning 25 percent or more in salary than they did in 2004.
http://www.certmag.com/articles/templates/CM_gen_Article_template.asp?articleid=2479
Overall, IT professionals saw their wages increase by 16.7 percent, which is just slightly better than last year’s 16.4 percent increase. In addition, nearly a quarter of respondents received at least a 25 percent increase in pay, which is up from 23.4 percent last year. For the first time since the Certification Magazine Salary Survey was launched in 2000, even the lowest average IT salary (by certification) charted was more than $50,000 annually, further evidence of the increased earning potential IT professionals enjoy.
Then explain to him that after attaining your certificaitons you expect a 15% pay increase.
Do some research. I had saved a printed mag last year for my review this year but then changed jobs and didn't use it. It stated average 8% per attained cert. (Wish I could remember which mag it was)

If he can get scheduled and get in, two weeks still isn't going to be enough time.
If I were him, I'd prepare my resume.

You think that i can pass the test with this 5 days learning?I guess that depends how comfortable you are with the material and how familiar you are with CP's products.
P.S i'll show him what you've wrote...not sure he will be happy :)I thought that might help get him off your back :)

This is a bit more then a fortnights worth of reading little lone the practical experience required to reinforce your new knowledge but prior preparation prevents piss poor performance.
I wish you well, trying to get skilled up within a fortnight is near impossible, its taken me years to learn what I know and learn what to apply and when to apply it.
Skill yourself up know as there will always be security related roles.
