If you don't know how to do that I'd recommend you to learn Linux basics.

It won't do you any good if you want to start playing around with Backtrack without even knowing how to start your network interface. Also there are enough threads around on the forum, so searching for it would be enough.

In my opinion Questions like these don't belong in this forum, because things like that are linux basics...

Just ask them why hey use BT ad you'l know if their a n00b or not, imply to get free wifi, kinda sucks, it should have a lisence for proffesionals only, but since its on development and vulnerabilities tools grow each they, so theres no need for that, in the other hand, whyyou'l need a lisence, if I dont use a lisence for Windows myself, well I use it for basic stuff, linux is mostly what I use but im not all into it, my thing is with MAC
