The following worked for me.
1. Download the .tar not the .deb 2. untar the package. 3. mv it to /usr/share 3. cd /usr/share/gerix-wifi-cracker-ng-r20 4. sudo python gerix.py 5. put your card in monitor mode using the UI. My card is wlan0 It Works! I had no luck whatsoever thinking that this was installed on BT4. You have to install it manually in any case. |

easy way to get it working is as follows:
this will work even if it isn't installed open console apt-get update apt-get install gerix-wifi-cracker as long as you have an internet connection, this will fix it for you buc will open, just close it out, and the gerix-wifi-cracker will be pinned to your menu if you need to enable networking: /etc/init.d/networking start hope this helps |

do a search in the forums for gerix, and find the tutorial, you only need to know how to get your wireless card's MAC
type 'iwconfig' in a terminal to list your wireless extensions then if you see your wireless card.... mine is usually wlan0 type 'iwconfig wlan0' this will give you your MAC, all the other info can be seen by using the gerix FE via gui, I believe there is also a good tutorial on youtube it's not as easy as spoonwep or spoonwpa, but it supports pyrit, which is nice if you have some nice graphics cards to take advantage of. I'm still trying to get that to work with my dual nvidia 295's, but can't get the benchmark scores that i should be getting |
