Default Making a bare-bones ISO for a CD???

Hi,

I was wondering if it is at all possible to make a bare-bones version of Backtrack 4 to fit on a CD and, can this be done with Ubuntu installed on an HDD instead of having to have BT4 installed first?

I've checked out this tuto on customizing the BT4 ISO:

Leaders in Online Information Security Training » Customising the BackTrack 4 PreFinal ISO

...and was looking to see if someone can provide a list of the squashes (please pardon the reference) that can be considered optional, in order to get the DVD ISO file down in size so it can be burned onto a CD-ROM.

This would be extremely helpful to those w/o a DVD burner or who's laptops cannot be booted easily from a pendrive and, would enable us to install BT4 onto a HDD and then download the optional apps, via the repository.

Thanks

Theres a problem with this in the way package managment is done. All of backtrack is in meta packages so that as soon as you apt-get upgrade all the stuff you removed will come back. The custom .iso build script is more to add stuff to the .iso. If you dont plan to update it it would work fine I guess.

Thanks for your reply. I'll probably pick up a burner this weekend and play around with making a dual boot setup.
