well, hi to all,,i think that most of you uses metasploit that we don't need to explain its job, but as we know, it exploits to hack .. ok .. thats if you scan the computer and find the open ports ,, this if you was in a network,,but the question is

How do you can hack a computer thats not in the network,,and it is behind router, and if you scan, you will get only find port 80 is open,,so no exploitation for the router,,,and these days all people uses router in there home ,,
SO , how can we hack it using metasploit , and away from making reverse payload,,, i mean directly hacking ...

Hello, everyone!

I'm a total noob when it comes to hacking and so on.
I don't understand much about it.

I've messing around a few days with this THC-Hydra application (running it on Vista).

I would very much like to hack into my neighbour's router interface using a web browser. The neighbour has the router and the internet is shared between me and one of my other neighbours (at least I think so :)).

The IP of the router should be at 192.168.1.254. When I type in this address in a browser it pops up a window and asks me for username and password for SpeedTouch server.

Now, I tried to hack it with Hydra using various password lists and username lists, but no luck. So now I'm generating some new lists with a very nice and useful tool I found on these forums (made by user derv0).

Anyway, what I'd like to know first is is it possible to somehow use a list of possible usernames with Hydra. And once the right username has been Hydra would inform me about this, without knowing the password. It's probably a really stupid question, but I'd really like to know if it's possible.

Or should I use really long wordlist for both username and password to find the right match?

I'd also like to ask if I entered the right kind of command into Hydra when I tried to crack this router - I typed in the following line of commands (without quotes) "hydra -l adminlist.txt -p passlib.txt -m httpcolon//192.168.1.254 192.168.1.254 http-get"

If this isn't the right way, maybe you could tell me which way is. And if there is, I'd like to know when Hydra has found a right match and inform me about this.

Sorry, if this whole post is silly and stupid because I'm such a newbie and English isn't even my native language and is maybe a bit to understand my point in places.

Anyway, thanking in advance
Jaak

sometimes when i try to get auth, i get error. is this related with macc address ? what should i do ?

Attack was unsuccessful. Possible reasons:

* Perhaps MAC address filtering is enabled.
* Check that the BSSID (-a option) is correct.
* Try to change the number of packets (-o option).
* The driver/card doesn't support injection.
* This attack sometimes fails against some APs.
* The card is not on the same channel as the AP.
* You're too far from the AP. Get closer, or lower
the transmit rate.

should i test api rate ? or find another maccadress ? how can i find main problem ? which test or ways should i do ?
