Is there anybody that publish a driver of this card for linux?

I really need this driver.

Hi, this is my first post on this forum and I hope it will turn out to be a clean one :D

First of all I would like to alert the mods that I have searched the forum, read everything and even tried everything before posting here.

I have purchased an Alfa AWUS050NH which was recommended by a friend as a good injection / monitor usb card for BT4. What I noticed from previous threads, a hackish solution with custom drivers works for BT4beta.

I tried to apply it to BT4pre final (with apocolipse and official drivers) with no luck. It seems the new kernel present in the prefinal wont allow the cooked drivers.

I have also seen mixed posts about how you can use rt2800usb and rt2870sta for this card.

Can someone clarify where we stand with this card?
Has someone setup a Prefinal configuration to work with this card?
Who is up for some heavy testing and ultimately making a .deb package to solve everyone's issues once and for all.

d --

(This thread will be edited upon each solution to reflect the latest updates to its progress in order to avoid reading 10 pages of posts for no reason)

Hello every one
I have a vaio sz770 nc . that has a Geforce 8400M GS .
i want use that for cuda and WPA cracking
I install backtrack 4 pre final . I first use nvidia-driver but it fails and get a error dpkg return code 01 and these errors are shown :
"
ckage nvidia-driver is not configured yet.
cuda-sdk depends on cuda-toolkit; however:
( i use that after deactiving x server)
then i use envyng . but that failed too !
after that , i use nvidia installer that i download from nvidia site . i install that but show failed error .
when i start the backtrack in boot there comes a message that is installing nvidia but finally that failed . and when i use startx first Nvidia logo appear . but there is no information in /etc/X11/xorg.conf

thanks very much
sorry for weak english

hi
the problem is solved . i say the solution for every one that want to know .
because in Backtrack 4 prefinal you commonly are from another user . when you write sudo apt-get install nvidia-driver . a xorg.conf.new is created in /user/home directory but the apt-get ! search in /root/ !!!!
then you run the apt-get . then copy xorg.conf.new to /root/ directory and again run the apt-get install nvidia-driver . that's too simple
bye

Been working on this damn problem about 3 hours and still no result!

System:
HP mini 2140, BCM4312 b/g rev 01 , kernel 2.6.30.7

I guess I've checked almost all google results related to this case. To quickly note the problem I should say that for some unknown reason b43 driver (loaded as b43-pci-bridge)is forcefully loaded, even after cleanly installing 'wl'.
Do not mention blacklisting tips nor re-compile/installing wl since I've tried every possible situation.
Now I`ve came to this point that, at least in BT4, blacklisting the b43 is NOT applied. I've tried multiple blacklist file names ( /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist OR blacklist.conf OR blacklist-bcm43)
,trying to blocking bcm43xx/ssb/b43/b44/ndiswrapper/b43legacy with no luck. still :

Quote:

dmseg have no usefull information :

Quote:

wl: module license 'unspecified' taints kernel.

Recompiling 2.6.30.7 & building fresh kernel-headers from scratch, followed by compiling wl driver from source and inserting the new module to kernel looks working fine, but no success loading wl at end.

After removing all b43 & other blacklisted modules and even renaming related .ko files , b43-pci-bridge still loads from no-where and catch the hardware before wl loads. fail again

depmod, depmod -a & depmod 2,6,30.7 or 'update-initramfs -v -u all' has been tried after replacing and removing drivers. fail again

what make this harwdare non-working :
b43-pci-bridge is always loaded BEFORE wl get the chance to catch hardware, so, it fails and you won`t have it working. While card hardware is known by lshw, it`s not detected by driver, so no interface is created.

possible solution:{you tell me!}
please show me how to completely get rid of b43 and won`t have it automatically loaded, considering all of my non-working efforts to blacklist it (and other broken drivers)...
blocking b43-pci-bridge will let wl take control of the card, and it would hopefully work.

Thanks God that I've my Ubiquity card and not locked down by this problem hardly.
