Default PPTPD VPN Ubuntu server

Hello,

I just set up a VPN server with PPTPD and it works well in the sense that I can connect to it remotely. The problem I am having is pinging from my local LAN to the VPN clients. In the /etc/pptpd.conf I have the local IP of the server as 10.5.1.2 (which it is) and the remote IP set as 10.5.2.10-20.

My first question would be why are you using PPTP instead of L2TP for your VPN connection?
