Angry bt4 on dell inspiron 6400,wired internet not work!!!

hi
i am new with bt4, i installed bt4 on my dell inspiron6400 hard disk
when i try to connect to internet using wired internet connection, nothing happens ( it does not work! what should i do! please help me

Use the wicd network manager.
There are several posts on this very thing.
