Exclamation New forum registration procedures

Greetings,

After a spam shower that took place some days ago, new registered users will have a waiting period of 3 days before they can post new threads on any other forum than the Newbie Area.

The forum stats show we have 139 users right now in this limbo state, so be patient. Most spammers use automated or semi-automated systems to deliver their crap, but won't wait around for a few days until they are allowed to post.

We can still have automated spam in the Newbie Area, but at least it will be easier to prune. Collaboration from members is requested, please report spam threads to the moderators so their reaction time can be better.

May the force be with you all,

Mother

(PS This thread is open so you can post your flames regarding this decision )

Wink

Rock on Mother I think a little waiting period is a great Idea. Its kind of like the waiting period for a handgun. I still chuckle about that one thread months ago when you told some guy to go to the netstumbler forums and he would be treated with the utmost courtesy and respect /LMAO

Ugh, I just noticed this post - which part of:

new registered users will have a waiting period of 3 days before they can post new threads on any other forum than the Newbie Area.

did you not understand? Your waiting period is over now, anyway...the newbies area is exactly for that, so people have at least one place where to post urgent (which almost never are) questions without plastering the rest of the forums.

Mother

i'm still waiting for the urgent questions
the only questions so far are for "Newbie Guide:- How to crack a WEP key, step by step. By another newbie" and all the answers are in the forums if they do a search
