[ANNOUNCEMENT]: Wiki Update Project

Since I've joined the forums I have seen countless posts that have had useful information, whether it was a small work around, a tid bit of info on how to test something, to getting certain hardware to work. We've all needed help sometime and these forums have proven invaluable at providing us a place to exchange knowledge and vent our frustration in attempts to learn more.

That said, I am asking YOU, to help me. HOW you ask? Simple really. I want to update our BT wiki. It is relatively bare in information compared to the forum. So, all you have to do is search the forum and post the URL to the thread in this thread here. I will be going through and adding the information to the wiki.

Anything deemed useful, whether its a script to start macchanger on startup, getting your oronco card to work, etc.. If you are feeling really helpful, you could post it in the wiki yourself, but all I ask of you is to scour some of the pages of the forums and post me a link to the useful thread.

I'm not intending to "toot my own horn", but these were the first ones that came to my mind, which makes scene to me since I am me..lol. Ill search more and post here for others that helped me as well.

C'mon people..don't be lazy! Post a link or 2. It only takes a minute. It doesn't matter if your link you post doesn't get posted on the wiki..but what does matter is that you took the time to post a link!!

I added to the HCL:Wireless area some of my kismet.conf "source=" setups that I can confirm work. Anyone that has kismet working with there cards please add yours so we can stop the numerous number of "kismet does not work" posts.

Found this while searching for ReL1K's bash script for updates. Could it be incorporated into the wiki so posters that are looking to update could be directed to one page on wiki ?

this script is by relik too and does the updating the same as the one below but it also comes with a attack suite. It also leaves alot of room for adding your own tools. I have made my own complete script and it was agreat learning experiance in python.

To use script copy and paste the script from the white box below the original script.
open kate(my preferance use what you want} paste file

save as btupdate.py in root

open bash shell and "chmod 755 btupdate.py"
(this makes the file excecutable)

Then simply open shell and type "btupdate.py"

* note some of the scanner and fuzzer options are not yet coded and need to be added by you. This was a great first python code experiance

Ive never added to the wiki before so zim not sure of the protocol so maby some one more experianced could put in the updater

Does it have to be backtrack specific or can it involve the tools as well?

Or basically anything that comes to mind that backtrack has to offer, hardware,software,antenna's, etc
