flat pack? Being your first post I am going to be nice. I am guessing you just started using BT. I would would use BT4 pre and not BackTrack 3. BT4 pre is more or less Ubuntu with a ton of cool "hacking tools". Just install it like normal ubuntu and use it like you would with any *nix box.

I believe a flat pack is kind of "toastie sandwich" where the cheese and ham are packed really tightly.

I've never heard of a toaster device running Linux as it's main OS, but if the hardware is good enough I suppose it's worth a try.

For the ultimate 'install-Linux-on-any-hardware', there is always this.

OK it would seem that you have contacts within the deepest realms of the NSA DARPA deviations of the Echelon project. I am fully aware that disclosing this above top secret information is going to jeopardize my life. I feel that the peoples of the world should know “At the very center of the internets is Flat-Top quantum toaster!” It is the brain of Echelon. So secret that it is disguised as a toaster so that only the Majesic-12 would recognize it. Even safe from the pursuits of agents Mulder and Scully. It planed the WTC! You can also play Counter Strike on it if you get bored.

I have always loved that one.

Actually I have an acquaintance who works at DARPA as an electronics engineer. I don't think he does anything too exciting like putting *nix on toasters though.
